CAERNARFON – FOOTPLATE RIDES


This Saturday – The Welsh Highland Railway is joining in with the entertainment during Saturday’s Food Festival in Caernarfon, as steam locos ‘Chaloner’ and ‘Hugh Napier’ will be bustling around the station providing footplate rides to visitors.

‘Chaloner’ was built just across the road from the station, at the De Winton Works in St. Helen’s Road. ‘Hugh Napier’ used to work in the Penrhyn Slate Quarries, but is now owned by the National Trust.

The locomotives will be in Caernarfon Station from 09:30 till 15:00 – pop along and enjoy a ride on one (or both) of these historic machines..!
