Our third meeting of the 2018-2019 Season is on the subject of ‘Importing a Chinese Locomotive and Re-gauging it for the Ffestiniog Railway’ with Paul Molyneaux-Berry.
Paul, who is a well-known driver on the Ffestiniog Railway, last visited the Group in 2009 when he gave us a fascinating talk on locomotive testing on the railway. Since then with a group of other drivers he has been involved in rebuilding a Chinese locomotive at Boston Lodge, the task including regauging from 2ft 6in to 2ft to make it suitable for use on our railway. We look forward to hearing something about the history and progress with rebuilding this locomotive.
Meeting starts at 19:45 and takes place at the BAWA, 589 Southmead Road, Filton, Bristol; BS34 7RG, directions at: www.bawa.biz . Meeting will be in Room 7 which is accessed by the second main entrance at the rear of the complex.
