Bristol Group Meeting – Tim Maynard
Our fourth meeting of the 2018-2019 Season is on the subject of the ‘Clifton Rocks Railway’ with Peter Davey.
Although no stranger to the Bristol Group it is some years that he gave us a talk from his extensive range of local transport histories. For those not familiar with the Clifton Rocks Railway, it connected the Portway to a station close to the Bristol end of the Suspension Bridge. Having closed in 1934 it was briefly used by the BBC during World War 2 but has been unused since.
Meetings start at 19:45 and take place at the BAWA, 589 Southmead Road, Filton, Bristol; BS34 7RG, directions at: www.bawa.biz . This meeting will be in Room 7 which is accessed by the second main entrance at the rear of the complex.
Thurs. 11th April 2019: Work of the Heritage Railway Association (provisional) – Mark Smith, also the Group AGM
