We’re up and running for the season and as the evenings get brighter, our Catering Department are on the lookout for some new staff!

Spooner’s currently have a variety of job availabilities…

How do you fancy?

✅ SERVING VISITORS AT OUR CAFÉ COUNTER… It’s all go at Porthmadog Harbour Station with trains running daily, which means plenty of visitors wanting coffee, cake and lunch at our café!

✅ POURING A PINT BEHIND OUR BUSY BAR… Our popular bar & beer terrace is busy throughout the season, so we’re on the lookout for new members of staff to join our bar team!

✅ PREPARING LUXURY PICNIC HAMPERS… We’re looking for staff who can prepare contents for the Hampers and make sure they are presented to a high standard for our customers to enjoy on-board the trains!

✅ MANAGING AND SUPERVISING YOUR OWN FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM… We’re also looking for Supervisors to lead a small team of Food and Beverage Assistants, to provide a brilliant & friendly service!

MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND... We're looking forward

MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND...

We're looking forward to a busy few days here at the F&WHR. Not only is it a Bank Holiday Weekend, it's also the AGM weekend for our supporters from the Ffestiniog Railway Society. Nine different locos will be in use, with lots of trains running, so Harbour Station will be full of action and interest...

▪️ On the Ffestiniog Railway - there will be up to five 'Woodland Wanderer' trains a day to Tan-y-Bwlch, along with a mix of morning/afternoon 'Mountain Spirit' trains to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
▪️ On the Welsh Highland Railway - there will be 'The Harbourmaster' (Fri/Sat) and 'Glaslyn Venturer' (Sun/Mon) trains from Porthmadog, while the 'Snowdonia Star' (Fri/Sat) and 'Gelert Explorer' (Sun/Mon) trains will run from Caernarfon.
▪️ In addition, there will be a number of shuttle trains running just for our Society members - but all our visitors will be able to see and photograph them during the weekend.

The Loco Roster varies from day to day, but the locos in use are expected to be as follows -
▪️ 'Woodland Wanderer' -'Prince' and 'Blanche'
▪️ 'Mountain Spirit' - 'Merddin Emrys' and 'David Lloyd George'
▪️ 'The Harbourmaster' / 'Glaslyn Venturer' - NG/G16 No.87
▪️ 'Snowdonia Star' / 'Gelert Explorer' - NG/G16 No.130
▪️ Society Members' Shuttles - 'Britomart', 'Sybil' and 'Elin'

We hope you'll come along and visit us this weekend. Ride the train or watch the action, there'll certainly be plenty to enjoy and entertain..!
