CAERNARFON STATION MANAGER – FFESTINIOG & WELSH HIGHLAND RAILWAYSThe Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways are at the heart of Snowdonia National Park and a major tourist attraction in North Wales. We have invested heavily in extending our line and building new carriages including our iconic first class Pullman Carriages. Our new station building at Caernarfon provides an exciting opportunity to provide state-of-the-art facilities to our visitors. We are seeking a Manager for this exciting new development.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic manager who can develop a world class customer facing team and harness the opportunities to drive the business forward presented by the new station.

This is an opportunity to develop a brand new facility into a dynamic, thriving café, retail and events space; creating a vibrant hub both for visitors to the railways and the local community.

The post is based in the town of Caernarfon and as such offers a great lifestyle opportunity in an area seeing growth in tourism driven by recent and ongoing investments; and proximity to the urban conurbations of the Midlands and the North West.

The successful candidate will be a recognised leader, motivator and convincer. You will be able to demonstrate your management experience and ability to deliver results in a related field of catering, tourism and/or hospitality. The successful candidate will be required to communicate and liaise with the local community to promote the station and the railway therefore knowledge of and influence in the Caernarfon community would be an advantage. This is a predominantly Welsh speaking area and the Company operates a bilingual policy. The ability to write and converse in Welsh would therefore be a particular advantage.

This is a very busy and stimulating role, combining both strategic and hands-on management skills and provides an exciting and challenging opportunity at the forefront of developing the tourist industry of Caernarfon and the wider Snowdonia area.

Management level salary will be tailored to the experience of the individual.
