We are delighted to announce that the Ffestiniog &

We are delighted to announce that the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways (FFWHR) has been successful in its application for a £3.1million grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

This is a momentous occasion for our railway and is the culmination of years of hard work by our staff and volunteers, developing this outstanding application.

An additional £900,000 of matched funding for this three-and-a-half-year project, will be provided by supporters.

FFWHR General Manager, Paul Lewin said;

“We would like to thank everyone who has played a part in the success of this application, it has been a huge collective effort and one in which we can all take great pride.”

We now look forward to making our visions a reality thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi bod Rheilffyrdd Ffestiniog ac Eryri (RhFfE) wedi bod yn llwyddiannus yn eu cais am grant o £3.1 miliwn gan Gronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol (CTLG).

Mae hwn yn achlysur pwysig i'n rheilffordd ac mae'n hanterth blynyddoedd o waith caled gan ein staff a'n gwirfoddolwyr, i ddatblygu'r cais rhagorol hwn.

Bydd cefnogwyr yn darparu £900,000 ychwanegol o gyllid cyfatebol ar gyfer y prosiect tair blynedd a hanner hwn.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN - Are your decorations up yet..?December is knocking on the door and the Harbour Station elves have been busy putting up our Christmas decorations. You'll have to come and visit to see what they look like (this is a photo from last year). Luckily, we've the perfect reason to visit...Our Gift Shop has been closed for stock-taking and an update to our EPOS system, but we're opening the doors for four days to give you a chance to pop in and clear some of the items off your Christmas Present list (That's your list of presents for others, though if you want to treat yourself.... 😉). With the Tea Room closed at present, Sandra has moved down to Spooner's for the winter season. We're pleased, therefore, to bring you the news that she will now be preparing her popular Festive Afternoon Teas for Spooner's customers to enjoy.These will be available Tuesday to Sunday throughout December. TEMPORARY DIVERSION NEWS...Customers driving to Spooner's from the Minffordd / Penrhyndeudraeth direction should be aware that the Cob has been closed to road traffic until 8th December. This is to allow the installation of a new 11kv cable to the Premier Inn site, across the road from Harbour Station. A diversion is in place along the Porthmadog Bypass and back through the centre of town.There are a couple of signs along the High Street stating the road ahead is closed. However, there is still access to our Car Park for Spooner's patrons, so have no worries about driving past them.We're definitely open for business (Mondays excepted) with doors opening from 10:00. For those arriving by bus - there will be no bus service through Minffordd for the duration of the road closure.
