Pauline & Malcolm Holloway
Pauline and Malcolm have decided to leave railway and are moving from the area. Below is a message from Paul:
As you are probably aware Pauline has worked with us for a long time, some seventeen years in fact, and has seen the railway through many challenges. In addition to supporting the board and myself in our work, she also worked with the construction company when building the Welsh Highland Railway, managing a myriad of meetings and keeping track of all the notes.
She has helped us with numerous special events, which have built our standing and reputation. The highlight of these of course being the superbly organised visit of Her Majesty the Queen for the naming of ‘Glaslyn’. The other events are too numerous to mention but the hallmark has always been attention to detail and a strong focus on making a special experience for the visitors and VIP’s of the day.
Day to day the management of the FfWHR GM’s office is no small task, something which Pauline took in her stride. I know the Board have particularly appreciated her help with meeting organisation and the work to keep the board packs and papers well-structured and delivered on time.
Personally, I will miss Pauline’s help and support. She has worked with me throughout my tenure as GM. She has my heartfelt thanks for her input over this time which has seen the railways change in both size and professionalism. In particular, the help with our networking activities as we reach out to others for support has been something not immediately visible but is none the less such an important part of what we do.
Malcolm, meanwhile, has been a stalwart in the car park for many years and has also helped in the carriage works over the winter periods. He has been a much valued member of the commercial team with his polite welcome many peoples’ first encounter with the railways.
I hope you will all take a moment to wish Pauline and Malcolm all the best for the future.
