Coed Y Bleiddiau
The Landmark Trust have made an amazing job of restoring the cottage to such a standard that it is fully booked for the rest of this year! http://Holiday at Coed y Bleiddiau Visiting the site gives you a look at the quality of the accommodation. Of course, the challenge is getting to the cottage. Not for the fainthearted unless you work with the Ffestiniog Railway timetable. I am advised that there is no TV and Mobile reception is non-existent! Fortunately you have all the other modern day amenities so you will not be taken right back to the 1860’s when the station master lived there. The windows and porchway are similar to what Plas Smart will look like when they are installed recreating a bit more history along the track.
In keeping with the colour scheme of the paintwork, the new shed to keep the laundry in has been painted the same and is situated on the access road to Tan y Bwlch station – avoids negotiating through the visitors cars in the car park when change overs take place. Only a glimpse of the slate roof can be seen from the passing trains.
