Farewell to Sarah
Sarah Nicoll has left the railway after a period of seven years working in Porthmadog booking office.
Starting in April 2011, just after the arrival of the WHR into Porthmadog, Sarah began as seasonal staff but was promoted to full time then to supervisor grade during her time with us. She provided great assistance to Sam Hughes, helping with the administration of guest drivers and other functions and also keeping the ticket cash book up to date. In recent months, she has also been issuing group travel invoices. She has learned a lot of skills and grown in confidence and we hope this will help her in her new position with CK tools in Pwllheli.
A keen horse rider and mini owner, Sarah does however share one interest with Paul Lewin – she loves Lyd! She is rather hoping she can keep a picture of Lyd on her screensaver in her new place of work.
We will certainly miss Sarah and her anecdotes of life with her various animals and of course, the minis, Gerry and Eddie. We wish her the best of luck in her new positon and hope that she will keep her promise of coming back to volunteer sometimes.
Sarah’s photo was provided by Roger Dimmick who says that Sarah will kill him, so watch this space for future announcements of Roger’s Demise!
