Final Reminder: Would you like to do something different or try something new? There are so many things you can do to please yourself and to help keep our narrow gauge railways the best in the UK.
If you enjoy gardening, DIY, painting or physical work out in the open air, maybe on the track, would you enjoy it even more in the delightful countryside of North Wales?
If you’ve dreamed of firing a locomotive or working on trains as a guard or providing passengers with refreshments, with training, you might fulfil that dream on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways.
If you have engineering skills or other qualifications that would be invaluable on a railway, would you gain satisfaction if you were prepared to share them with our railways?
We have a special weekend on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April when we can show you a selection of activities around the railway that you could undertake as a volunteer. The programme is the same on both days but Sunday is often the quieter day.
You will need to come with stout shoes or boots as the ground is uneven at Boston Lodge and Minffordd Yard; it would also be wise to bring your waterproofs. Refreshments including a sandwich lunch will be provided.
