Date: 15th June: A visit to the East Lancashire Railway.

Coach and train ride – Travel by coach from North Wales to the ELR; the ticket is a Freedom of the Line ticket which allows unlimited travel all day on the railway as well as free access to Bury Transport Museum.

Cost – £35 for North Wales Group members, for non-members £38, if we have 30 or more travelling; however, if the number is between 25 and 30 travelling the cost will be £38.50 for North Wales Group members, non-members £41.50.

Itinerary:

  • Depart Penrhyndeudraeth (if there are those travelling from there) 08:00, Porthmadog 08:10, Penygroes 08:30, Dinas 08:40, Caernarfon 08:50, Bangor 9:10, also any other pick-up points on A487 and A55, arrival at Heywood (ELR station) at approximately 11:10 for a 11:30 train departure for Rawtenstall.
  • Travel as you wish all day, there are numerous locations for food and refreshments close to the railway.
  •  Return departure at 18:00 from Bury Bolton Street Station.

Confirmation and £15 deposit as soon as possible, full payment by 1st June as we get a concession for advance payment.

July visit to the Severn Valley Railway.

Date: 13th July.

Coach and train ride – Travel by coach from North Wales to SVR; the ticket is a Freedom of the Line ticket which allows unlimited travel all day on the railway as well as free access to The Engine House.

Cost – £37.50 for North Wales Group members, for non-members £40.50, if we have 30 or more travelling; however, if the number is between 25 and 30 travelling the cost will be £40.50 for North Wales Group members, non-members £43.50.

Itinerary:

  • Depart Bangor at 07:15 and pick up Caernarfon 07:35, Dinas 07:45, Penygroes 07:55, Porthmadog 08:15, Penrhyndeudraeth 08:25 also any other pick up points on the A487; arrival at Bridgnorth at approximately 10:30 for a 10:55 train departure for Kidderminster.
  • Travel as you wish all day, there are numerous locations for food and refreshments close to the railway.
  •  Return departure at 18:30 from Bridgnorth.

Confirmation and £15 deposit as soon as possible, full payment by 1st July.
